PEDORTHIC SERVICES

IN-PERSON and MOBILE APPOINTMENTS

Unfortunately Pedorthic services are not covered by Manitoba Health. Patients must pay out of pocket for services, and apply for reimbursement where applicable.​

3rd Party Coverage

​Patients may eligible for custom foot orthotics and/or graduated compression hosiery through programs like the Non-Insured Health Benefits (NIHB) for First Nations and Inuit's, Workers Compensation Board (WCB), Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI), Veterans Affairs Canada (VAC), and/or Employment and Income Assistance (EIA). Please contact for more information.

Pedorthic Assessment

Do you have trouble standing, walking and/or running? Do you struggle with pain in the feet, ankle, knees, hips and/or lower back? A Pedorthic Assessment includes an analysis of the feet and lower limbs, range of motion, posture and gait, as well as footwear. These analyses are meant to identify movement patterns that cause problems for the feet and lower limbs. Post-assessment the Pedorthist will make recommendations, offer a treatment plan, educate on the potential causes of pain, and refer patients to other clinicians.

Custom Foot Orthotics (Adult)

Struggling with chronic foot pain? Have you been prescribed custom orthotics? Pedorthists specialise in the casting for, as well as manufacturing, modifying and fitting of custom foot orthotics. This process is completed across two appointments.

A Pedorthic Assessment is included in the cost. Custom foot orthotics have a $250 non-refundable deposit (per pair), and come with a 6-month warranty. Additional pairs of custom foot orthotic can be ordered for $370 (per pair).

Pedorthic Footwear Assessment

Having trouble with foot pain when wearing shoes? Is it hard finding footwear that fits you without causing blisters, calluses or other issues? A Pedorthic Footwear Fitting includes a footwear and gait analysis. Post-assessment the Pedorthist will offer a footwear prescription, educate on the potential causes of pain, and refer patients to other clinicians if need be.

(OTC) Graduated Compression Hosiery

Suffering from tired, achy, legs and/or mild edema (i.e. swelling)? Are you interested in trying over-the-counter (OTC) graduated compression hosiery to help manage your daily lifestyle? Or perhaps you have been prescribed stronger compression hosiery to help manage a medical condition? OTC graduated compression hosiery (15 - 20 mmHg) is used to help prevent further progression of conditions, manage blood flow during prolonged periods of sitting (e.g., travel, work, etc.), as well as protect and recover from active endeavours. Medical graduated compression hosiery (20 - 30 mmHg, or stronger) is often chosen to manage circulatory conditions like varicose veins and venous insufficiency, increase blood flow.
